statue – a carved sculpture
mastaba – Ancient Egyptian tombs with a low rectangular base, sloping sides, and a flat roof, first burial place for a Pharaoh made of mud bricks, before Pyramids existed
Step Pyramid – first Pyramid to be built of stone, which was a mastaba topped by five tiers each of a smaller size. Burial chambers are under the first mastaba.
architect – one who designs and supervises the construction of buildings or large structures
pyramid – a triangular structure that housed the tomb or burial place of a Pharaoh
Pharaoh – King of Ancient Egypt
sphinx – an Ancient Egyptian huge monument having the head of a human and the body of a lion.
sarcophagus – a stone coffin
mummy – a body is wrapped with white linen strips of cloth before it was placed in the coffin
invent – to create something for the first time
motif – a design or pattern
texture – the element of art referring to the look or feel of an object, for instance an object can feel bumpy or smooth
express – to communicate your feelings or imagination visually, especially through art
self-esteem – is that nice feeling you get inside when you do something good
positive – expressed as a good thing
analogy – a way of explaining an idea by using something you already understand
